South Angus Survival
SOUTH ANGUS SURVIVAL has recently acquired an area of beautiful land
in Argyll to be known as "The Laird's Retreat".
This consists of gently sloping hillside by the banks of one of Scotland's most
beautiful un-spoilt lochs.
Access and usage (for normal recreational purposes) is being granted
to all "Lairds of Glencairn & John O'Groats" COMPLETELY
FREE when they purchase a Souvenir Plot of Highland Land at
Glencairn or John O'Groats, Caithness.
An option to purchase additional areas of breathtaking land has been
obtained by SOUTH ANGUS SURVIVAL, and we hope that, with your support,
we can exercise this option and extend "The Lairds Retreat" on
your behalf, to be used now and for all time coming as a Personal Retreat
for you and your successors.
A detailed map of the area and access instructions are supplied only
to 'Lairds of Glencairn & John O'Groats';
only 'Proof of Title' Card holders and their guests will have Legal Access
to 'The Lairds Retreat'. Glencairn, Scotland Map
HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU KNOW WHO HAVE
'PRIVILEGED PERSONAL ACCESS'
TO A REMOTE HIGHLAND LOCHSIDE ESTATE?
Each 'Laird of Glencairn & John O'Groats' is helping to preserve areas
of Land in the Scottish Highlands, areas that will be left in their Natural
State for them, their successors, and the local wildlife to enjoy.
The Personal Plots measure one square foot (12" x 12") and are
situated at Glencairn (see
map) in the historic Highland County of Caithness - the Lybster area
of Caithness, to be exact.
The famous "Grey Cairns of Camster" are but a short walk from
our estate, and date back over 4,500 years. This is the oldest stone-age
site in Britain, and the Cairn of Camster was used for centuries as a burial
chamber for the first "Highland Clan Chiefs".
Many of the place names in Caithness bear witness to the influence of
the Viking invasion of Britain, names such as Lybster, Scrabster, Camster,
Keiss, Freswick and so on. The large number of sheltered and hidden bays
along the coastline of Caithness lured the Vikings - many settlements were
built and used as staging posts for forays inland.
The man who signed the peace treaty acknowledging the independence of
the United States was a Caithnessian. Richard Oswald from Dunnet made a
fortune as an 18th century merchant in London, and acquired extensive estates
in America and the West Indies through marriage. He became a diplomat and
signed the treaty for Britain, the American signatory being the famous
scientist/politician, Benjamin Franklin.
The Counties of Caithness and Sutherland suffered greatly during the "Highland
Clearances" when, after the Rebellion of the Highland Clans in 1745
was crushed on Culloden Moor, the Highland Chiefs came to realise that
they had little use for the formidable fighting qualities and the fierce
Clan loyalties of the native Highlander.
Once a Clan Chief counted his wealth in the number of broadsword-wielding
Warriors he could command in battle; soon he was to count his wealth in
the number of sheep he could graze in the now empty hills and glens.
In the words of the Caithness Seer, "Mo thruaighe ort a thir, tha'n
caoraich mhor a' teachd!"…."Woe to thee, oh land, the
Great Sheep is coming!".
But these same Highlanders' qualities were much needed elsewhere. In America,
Canada, Australia and the many other lands these fiercely proud and hard-working
people were driven to.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for you and your descendants to own
a piece of Scottish Highland History and to legally bear the title "HIGHLAND
LAIRD OF GLENCAIRN".
With each plot purchased the Laird (Owner of Scottish Land) receives a
handsome Land Title Deed measuring 15" x 10" together with a
map of Caithness, plan of site, Personal Plot Number and access instructions.
Suitably framed, the Land Title Deed (which, under Scots law and custom
allows the owner usage of the Title "Laird") makes a most impressive
wall display.
The land and the Title can be passed from generation to generation and
be a constant reminder to the owner that they own a piece of the HISTORIC
SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS.
